SLTEC Fertilizers (Sustainable Liquid Technolog)

SLTEC is a leading manufacturer of fluid fertilizers, based in Central Victoria. SLTEC's manufacturing plant is a world standard, high-volume operation supplying product to a wide range of eastern seaboard customers, including some of Australia's largest corporate agricultural producers. An opportunity exists for a motivated young person to learn engineering skills and be exposed to a variety of engineering projects, as well as equipment. This placement will give students the chance to get a great insight into large scale engineering work.

Students will learn to apply principals of OH&S in an engineering environment, learn how to plan and undertake routine tasks, apply quality systems and procedures and work with others in a manufacturing and engineering environment.

Typical Tasks & Duties

You will be observing and possibly given the opportunity to assist tradespeople with all aspects of the operation including reading engineering drawings, collecting materials for jobs, cleaning work spaces, basic welding, grinding, fabrication, manual production assembly, all under supervision.

Student Requirements

Students must adhere to stringent occupational health and safety rules. Students must be punctual, willing to learn and take initiative and pride in tasks undertaken.

Dress Requirements

Fully covered workwear, steelcap workboots.

Special Transport Requirements

Student to make own transport arrangements.
