Lester's Automotive specialise in repairing and servicing all makes and model of cars. They are well known for their skill in working on high performance vehicles, engine rebuilds and aftermarket modifications.
Other specialist work includes:1 Dyno tuning 2 'Interject' - Injector cleaning 3 EFO systems 4 LPG tuning and conversions 5 Air conditioning repairs to all vehicles 6 Radiator service and repairs. 7 Radiator recoil cleaning and reconditioning. 8 Air conditioner component sales

Skills You Might Learn

This placement will provide students with valuable 'hands-on experience' and the opportunity to learn from experienced industry professionals.

Students will have the opportunity to attain a broad range of skills while on SWL placement. These skills include valuable general employability skills in communication, teamwork, problem solving, planning and technology.

Students may also attain vital industry specific skills which will relate to their studies including:
• Working in real-life scenarios and environments
• Working with tools and equipment necessary to the occupation and business
• Liaising and working with colleagues, supervisors, customers/clients and suppliers
• Occupational health and safety practices.

Typical Tasks & Duties


Task & Duties: Typical tasks and duties will involve assisting technicians as they diagnose faults in motor vehicles. Vehicles can then be repaired / maintained as required using parts and tools from the workshop. Students will use equipment and tools as needed under supervision. Car parts will be removed and replaced as directed by staff. General workshop cleaning as required

Dress Requirements

Closed toe, nonslip shoes.
Steel capped safety boots.
Workwear appropriate for the workplace.
Neat casual attire
Minimal jewellery and long hair tied back for safety purposes.

Special Transport Requirements

No specific transport arrangements available. Students must organise their own transport, to and from the workplace.
