This is an exciting opportunity for a Structured Workplace Learning (SWL) Placement for a student who is passionate about agriculture and is keen to gain an insight into a mechanical qualification working on small engines and outdoor power equipment. Haeusler's is a family-owned company with six locations from Mildura to Shepparton. Skills You Might Learn

This placement will provide students with valuable 'hands-on experience' and the opportunity to leam from experienced industry professionals. Students will have the opportunity to attain a broad range of skills while on work placement. These skills indude valuable general employability skills in communication, teamwork, problem solving, planning and technology.
Students may also attain vital industry specific skills which will relate to their studies induding:
Working in real-life scenarios and environments
Working with tools and equipment necessary to the occupation and business
Liaising and working with colleagues, supervisors, customers/clients and suppliers
Occupational health and safety practices

Typical Tasks & Duties

As a Mechanic's Assistant, you will work safely alongside qualified technicians who are repairing small engines and outdoor power equipment in the workshop. You will observe and assist with diagnosing mechanical faults and learn how to repair them. You will be required to use basic mechanical tools, generally assist in workiing out what new parts are needed and assist the team to keep the workshop, equipment and work area safe and clean.

Closed toe, nonslip shoes
Steel capped safety boots
Workwear appropriate for the workplace
