A placement opportunity exists for an enthusiastic student to work alongside an experienced excavator at Suckhole Excavations. Established in 2018, the company has been providing reliable, safe and expert services throughout regional Victoria for 4 years.
Working across both residential and commercial projects no two days are the same at Suckhole! The company provides hyrdo excavation, cartage and pumping services, specialising in non-destructive digging and location of underground assets.
Students will have the opportunity to be involved in vacuum and hydro excavation, non-destructive digging, manholes and footing, and asset location.
This placement is open to students from Bendigo and surrounds.

Skills You Might Learn

The student will learn skills in land clearing and site preparation, water extraction, compaction, trenching, infilling and backfilling, construction of footings, and pipe identification/installation. Other skills include improved industry knowledge, equipment care, and customer service. Transferable skills developed may include communication, time management and problem solving.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Students will be required to observe and assist with day-to-day activities; duties will range from site preparation, placing formwork and locating work.
Students will have the opportunity to work in a variety of production stages as well as general maintenance of equipment.

Student Requirements

The student must be willing to learn and develop new skills. Must be hardworking, reliable and have good communication skills. The student is also expected to be able to follow instructions, ask questions when needed to ensure understanding, and pay attention. The student will be required to maintain safe practice at all times.

- Personal mobile phones are not required and should only be used out of work hours or on meal breaks.

Dress Requirements

Steel capped boots and appropriate attire for working in a construction site. Long sleeved pants and shirt.
