This position: DIESEL MECHANIC (ASSISTANT) - ECHUCA
This is an exciting opportunity for a Work Experience Placement for a student who is passionate about agriculture and has an interest in mechanics. Haeusler's is a family-owned company with six locations from Mildura to Shepparton. This placement will provide students with valuable 'hands-on experience' and the opportunity to learn from experienced industry professionals.

Students will have the opportunity to attain a broad range of skills while on work placement. These skills include valuable general employability skills in communication, teamwork, problem solving, planning and technology.

Students may also attain vital industry specific skills which will relate to their studies including:

Working in real-life scenarios and environments
Working with tools and equipment necessary to the occupation and business
Liaising and working with colleagues, supervisors, customers/clients and suppliers
Occupational health and safety practices

Typical Tasks & Duties

As a Mechanic's Assistant, you will work safely alongside qualified technicians who are repairing mostly Haeusler's machinery - either in the workshop or out in the field. You will observe and assist with diagnosing mechanical faults and learn how to repair them. You will be required to use basic mechanical tools, assist in working out what new parts are needed and generally assist in workiing out what new parts are needed and generally assist the team to keep the workshop, equipment and work area safe and clean.

Students will:

Dress Requirements

Closed toe, nonslip shoes
Steel capped safety boots
Workwear appropriate for the workplace
Neat casual attire
Minimal jewellery and long hair tied back for safety purposes
