This placement will provide students with valuable 'hands-on experience' and the opportunity to learn from experienced industry professionals.

Students will have the opportunity to attain a broad range of skills while on work placement. These skills include valuable general employability skills in communication, teamwork, problem solving, planning and technology.

Students may also attain vital industry specific skills which will relate to their students such as:

Hands-on practical experience
Observing and learning from industry qualified and experienced professionals
Working in real-life scenarios and environments
Working with tools and equipment necessary to the occupation and business
Liaising and working with colleagues, bosses, customers/clients and suppliers

Typical Tasks & Duties

Typical tasks and duties will include but are not limited to:
Observe and assist qualified technicians in the planning, design and manufacture of road transport tankers and other components.
Students will also learn to work safely in a workshop and follow policy and procedures.

Students will:

Have a neat appearance and wear clothes appropriate to the workplace
Be willing to learn
Be punctual (on time) for work
Have a good work ethic
Take pride in their work and have attention to detail
Have a good work attitude and show initiative

Dress Requirements

Closed toe, nonslip shoes
Steel capped safety boots
Workwear appropriate for the workplace
Neat casual attire
Minimal jewellery and long hair tied back for safety purposes

Special Transport Requirements

Student to make own transportation arrangements
