Typical Tasks & Duties

If you are offered the opportunity to complete work experience at Upper Plenty Primary School, your duties will include assisting students with their learning activities, particularly in relation to literacy and numeracy tasks. You will be expected to model good behaviour and encourage students to do their best with the activities the teacher is delivering.

Student Requirements

This placement will only be available to ex-Upper Plenty Primary School students. Other essential requirements for this placement include: the ability to model positive behaviour at all times (language used must be exemplary), a willingness to leave your mobile phone in your bag in the staff room and a willingness to engage with students when it is appropriate to do so. You will need to show discretion and recognise when assisting students is helpful to the teacher. You must avoid a situation where you might distract students when the teacher is providing instructions.

Dress Requirements

You should wear comfortable, smart, casual clothing while on placement. You will need enclosed footwear. Active wear is not appropriate for this placement. If in doubt, check with your supervisor prior to commencing.

Special Transport Requirements

You will need to arrange your own transport to this workplace. You should also complete the Transport form as it may be possible for you to attend school excursions.
