Skills You Might Learn

Students completing placement at Sylemaster Panels have the potential to gain: A deeper understanding of the day-to-day operations of an autobody shop, and the automotive industry in general, including mechanical aspects. They will also learn: communication skills, teamwork, problem-solving, and use of industry-specific tools.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Students completing placement can expect to practise: washing & detailing, panel beating, assisting mechanics where appropriate, dismantling, maintaining a clean & safe working environment and other duties as directed.

Student Requirements

As the role is physically demanding at times, the ability to cope with a physical role is essential. Students should have an interest in the Motor Trade. They should also be enthusiastic and willing to learn, be punctual, with neat presentation and a polite manner.

Dress Requirements

Safety Boots, safety glasses and overalls. Neat and tidy.

Special Transport Requirements

Public transport available.
