An exciting opportunity exists for a Structured Workplace Learning placement as an Agriculture Worker with AgNVET based in Rochester Our extensive agronomic team deliver a range of services for broadacre, horticulture, viticulture, fodder, rice and summer crop production. These include on farm advice on pest, disease and weed management, crop inspections, farm planning and recommending in-crop nutrition requirements.
Skills You Might Learn
Students will learn to work as part of a team, as well as independently. The use of basic mechanical hand tools and irrigation installation processes will also be learnt. Communication in the workplace will be an important skill as well.
Typical Tasks & Duties
Students in the position will assist workers in a range of tasks to complete basic irrigation processes They will tidy work sites and use hand tools while supervised. The student will be required to be an active participant in all work place practices.
Student Requirements
Students are to have a genuine interest in agriculture or irrigation and be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Dress Requirements
Student is to wear neat casual dress appropriate for the work place plus sturdy work boots.
Special Transport Requirements
Student to make own transport arrangements
