The team of expertly trained stylists at Rare Earth Hair has been carefully selected for their skill and dedication to delivering 5-star service. They are located in Richmond and provide a wide range of professional services, including keratin treatments, hair extensions, styling and colouring. Rare Earth Hair are happy to host students interested in a hairdressing career. A cover letter is required with all placement requests.

For 1 day per week Placements - Placements should only be for a maximum of 5 weeks. Students can seek another 5 weeks should both the student and employer agree after a successful first placement.

This placement could align with your Certificate II in Salon Assistant through the following units of competency:
SHBHIND001 Maintain and organise tools, equipment and work areas
SHBXCCS003 Greet and prepare clients for salon services
SHBHBAS001 Provide shampoo and basin services

Skills You Might Learn

Communication skills, teamwork, customer service, product knowledge, blow drying, exposure to hairdressing booking systems and shampooing hair.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Shampoo hair, keeping the salon clean and tidy, making tea/coffee for customers, general housekeeping, greeting customers, preparing equipment for qualified hairdressers and assisting other staff members as required.

Student Requirements

Rare Earth Hair prefer to host students who are keen to pursue hairdressing as a career, are passionate and energetic, and have creative flair.

Dress Requirements

Closed-toe shoes, neat and tidy presentation.

Special Transport Requirements

Close to public transport.
