Students completing placement here have the potential to gain: Use of related hand and power tools, building/site calculations, framing, site preparations, fixing, lock up, setting out, occupational health and safety, communication, team work and following directions.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Students will be assisting qualified carpenters with all aspects of the building trade. This may include assisting with setting out, material calculations, labouring, use of hand and power tools, liaising with clients, site safety, renovating duties, framing, lock up and fixing.

Student Requirements

Students should have an interest in construction. They should also be willing to learn, physically fit and able, have good communication skills and a keen eye for details.

Dress Requirements

Overalls preferred if student owns them. Personal protective equipment
