Miss Kit: Beauty Salon

Miss Kit was founded in 2013 by beauty industry devotee Jodi Leahy. Miss Kit is the product of a pure passion for beauty, and a desire to share this with South West Victoria. Miss Kit has evolved from a salon and student academy in Warrnambool to an award winning team across two salons (our Colac salon opened in 2021) offering state-of-the-art treatments and fabulous service.

Skills You Might Learn

Skills attained will be in customer service and advising clients on skin and body care. Operate a cask register and computer. Keep the salon, work areas and equipment clean and ready for the next client. Selling retail products and developing a positive telephone manner and making appointments

Typical Tasks & Duties

-Give customers advice about skin and body care
-Perform facial or body massages
-Use a variety of treatments and equipment to treat skin and body conditions
-Remove facial or body hair by electrolysis or waxing
-Apply makeup
-Perform manicures, pedicures, nail extensions and eyelash and brow tinting
-Perform reception duties (receive bookings and arrange appointments)
-Provide advice about and sell cosmetic products

Student Requirements

Neat personal appearance at all times. No allergies to beauty products. Pleasant and tactful when dealing with clients. Interest in people. Sensitive when dealing with clients for body and facial treatments.
Some creative flair and patience. Student will need to be a self starter and show strong initiative.

Dress Requirements

Neat black dress with covered shoes

Special Transport Requirements

Student will need to make there own way to the beauty saloon.
