Skills You Might Learn

Students will, while under supervision, be learning the use of hand tools related to basic carpentry. They will learn to be part of the team while observing and using OH&S procedures followed on the work site. Training will be delivered onsite, with the RTO visiting and working with you on a regular basis.

Typical Tasks & Duties

This position will include activities around assisting the builder in their work as well as cleaning up the site, using carpentry hand tools and performing basic carpentry tasks. Most of the jobs will performed onsite and may include interaction with customers.

Student Requirements

The student must have completed the OH&S module in WRS VM or else have begun the OH&S module in the relevant VET course.

Dress Requirements

Appropriate work clothing suitable for outdoor work. Steel capped boots are also required.
You will be supplied with company work shirts and jumpers.
