The Blackthorn is a modern Cafe just across from Dromana Beach.

If you are interested in developing your hospitality skills further and enjoy liaising with clients and the general public, this busy front of house role, with a supportive and experienced team, could be for you. This cafe is set in a within The Dromana Hub Shopping Centre and will give you the chance to experience many aspects of the hospitality business whilst making a contribution to the day-to-day operation and functions of the business.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Students will gain hands-on experience across many aspects of the business. This placement will provide you with a range of opportunities to develop your skills while working alongside experienced industry professionals.

Student Requirements

Some employers have specific requirements relating to student placements. These may include sending in a resume, sighting a current Working with Children Check (WWC), gaining parental permission for the student to travel with employer or attending an OH&S induction prior to commencing a placement.

Dress Requirements

This placement requires attention to detail and excellent presentation. Please contact employer for details relating to specific dress requirements prior to the placement commencement date.

Another good idea is to look at the people at the workplace during your interview – observe what they are wearing and use this as a guide for how you should dress when you attend your placement.

Special Transport Requirements

The student is responsible for arranging own transport to and from workplace. Some public transport may be accessed.
