Position available for Sheet Metal Manufacturing & Powdercoating.
Established in 1988, this company build switchboards from the ground up at the one site, and we can build any switchboard from MCC’s to SCA’s, multi-metering and fully type tested switchboards. Have switchboards on sites everywhere from as far north as Queensland to as far south as Geelong.
Were one of the first board builders in Australia to build a 6000 amp type tested switchboard which is currently operating at Shorko in Wodonga and a 7000 amp type tested switchboard which is operating at the Cement Australia Plant in Gladstone.
In 2003 three employees traveled to Denmark to become accredited with the Cubic modular type tested switchboard system.

Typical Tasks & Duties
Students will commence their placement in the manufacturing of power boards.
Students will gain experience in all facets of the technology, however work in the sheet metal area is at the later stages of placement once other work skills have been achieved.
Employees manufacture, fit, assemble, erect, operate, test, fault find, alter and repair electrical equipment.
Note the role includes electrical wiring work only if that work is associated with assembling, maintaining, terminating or altering the wiring between electrical components within a plant or machinery.
An electrical fitter is not authorised to install any electrical wiring systems within an electrical installation as prescribed by definitions contained in AS/NZS 3000.
Electrical equipment means any appliance, article, accessory, wire, fitting, cable, conduit or apparatus that generates, uses, conveys or controls (or that is intended to generate, use, convey or control) electricity above extra low voltage.
Student Requirements
Understanding OH&S, White Card preferred, positive attitude. Seeking pathways into electrical or manufacturing
Dress Requirements
Safety Boots. All other PPE required will be provided.
Special Transport Requirements
Students will need to arrange their own transport to and from work
