This is an opportunity for a keen student to undertake a placement with an independent service centre and dismantler for BMW vehicles. This is a friendly work environment where the host is very keen to assist the student to learn and practice a wide range of skills. This opportunity may lead to the possibility for potential work or apprenticeship.

Skills You Might Learn

Students will be given tasks at a first year apprentice level. They will have the opportunity to spend time with experienced mechanic, focusing on manually assessing, diagnosing and assisting with repairing vehicles in order to build technical skills. The student will also learn the basics on managing spare parts.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Students will be expected to:
• use and maintain basic tools and equipment;
• apply safe work practices;
• assist in basic vehicle servicing;
• observe experienced mechanic;
• participate in spare parts preparation and warehousing;
• clean cars, clean work stations
• comply with OH&S procedures.

Student Requirements

Students will need to show a willingness to learn and an aptitude for mechanical work.

Dress Requirements

Steel toe cap boots and work clothes

Special Transport Requirements

The business is close to buses
