Working for many of the market gardeners in eastern Victoria, Aqua Pro has designed and installed systems from 1 to 300 acres and more. We use products sourced from reputable suppliers. We maintain a fleet of vehicles and machinery geared to be as efficient and accurate as possible operated by staff with the skill and experience to get your job done on time with the minimum of downtime.

We were the first installation company in Victoria to install GPS Autosteer guidance on our trencher offering sub 2 cm accuracy. This increased our efficiency and allowed for accurate placement whilst saving thousands of dollars in surveying costs and trenching speeds of up to 1km/hr. We are also well positioned to offer great service with both managing directors working in the field on your job able to make decisions and help you achieve your goals faster and with a minimum of fuss.

Skills You Might Learn

Maintain and store hand tools, use heavy machinery, digging trenches using Hand tools and machinery, welding and fabrication of pump systems and manifolds, cutting and joining of PVC plumbing. Some manufacturing of steel items. Maintenance of farm machinery I.e; replacing teeth on digger buckets. Some low voltage electrical work may be required in the installation of pumps and control systems. Whilst there is a lot of plumbing involved the employer is not a registered plumber so is unable to offer apprenticeships or work as plumber post placement.

There will be ample opportunities to learn a variety of skills even during the off season with this employer including design of irrigation components using CAD. Students willing to learn may be offered work after placement.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Observe onsite OH&S procedures using PPE. Following site plans to mark out trenches, Installation of pipes, sprinklers and bores Pump servicing and repair from centrifugal electric and diesel pumps, to the removal and installation of bore pumps and risers. This employer also manufactures BBQ smokers on site during the off season which involves CAD designing plans for 3rd party laser cutting, wielding/ boiler making and finishing i.e: painting.

Student Requirements

Must be able to follow instruction and capable of undertaking manual labour. Please check with employer regarding any COVID safe practices and immunisation requirements before starting placement.

Dress Requirements

Steel toed boots, long pants, High-Vis shirt or vest.

Special Transport Requirements

NO PUBLIC TRANSPORT ACCESS. Own transport preferred. Pick up can be arranged from a train station on the Cranbourne line if required.
