An exciting opportunity is available for a Work Experience placement for a student with a genuine interest in a career as a hairdresser/salon assistant. This professional salon located in Echuca has a team of experienced hairdressers who are willing to share their knowledge and guide the future generation of hairdressers. As a salon assistant, you will assist with the general running of the salon, working closely with these industry professionals.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Students will assist trained staff in performing duties, whilst receiving a high level of supervision. Students will spend a considerable amount of time observing professionals and may undertake the following:
All aspects of customer service, observing treatments
Greet and seat clients
Prepare clients for salon services
Offer clients tea/coffee and converse in a friendly manner
General cleaning, sweeping and set up and pack away tasks
Prepare treatments and apply skills of shampooing and conditioning hair
Learn to answer phone and book appointments

Student Requirements

Students are required to have a genuine interest in the hairdressing industry, a friendly manner and neat presentation.

Dress Requirements

Students must dress smartly with a neat and tidy appearance and wear comfortable shoes
