Carpentry and Maintenance Work
Spend a week shadowing and assisting the Murray River Council carpenter. The student will learn skills and assist with a variety of jobs. If you are serious and motivated to complete your work experience learning under the guidance of a highly qualified trained professional, this work experience placement is for you!

• Conducting a risk assessment

Typical Tasks & Duties

Identify and select correct tools; prioritise tasks; painting; concreting; repair of timber assets. Eg. bridged and facilities; travel to different sites in the Council area.
Students will also have the opportunity to attain a broad range of empoyability skills on placement such as:
Effective communication
Problem solving
Initiative and enterprise
Planning and organising

White Card - preferable

Dress Requirements

Steel capped boots
Long sleeve shirt
Short/long pant

Special Transport Requirements

Own transport to depot
