Offering a complete end to end service from custom design of their modular products (including selecting paint colour and a range of slides, ladders, and other play stations.) though manufacturing, Painting to Delivery and installation.
Skills You Might Learn
Each product will be slightly different but be made from modular arts that will required to be uniform and consistent. Learn to work safely in a warehouse, communicate with a team, read design plans, work to a production schedule.
Typical Tasks & Duties
Students will fill a spot on the manufacturing team within the Hallam warehouse and will undertake the assembly of pre-planned cubbie houses from raw timber. Students will be using Drop saws, hand drills and nail guns as well as hand tools to construct the frame of the product.
Student Requirements
Student must know how to use common carpentry hand tools, inc drill and nail gun as well as have some experience with a drop saw.Please check with employer regarding any COVID safe practices and immunisation requirements before starting placement.
Dress Requirements
Student is required to provide their own steel capped boots, long work pants and short sleeve t-shirt or polo.
Special Transport Requirements
Take bus 891 from Hallam station to Colrado Ct, which has only two stops and requires a 2-minute walk to the factory. The bus takes 4 minutes to arrive at the destination. Alternatively, you can walk 650 metres (9 minutes) from the Hallam train station to the factory.
