Horticultural worker

This is an opportunity for a student to gain experience in gardening, landscaping and general horticulture assisting with the maintenance and upkeep of council property across the Latrobe City Council area. The successful student will gain a vast range of experience and have the unique opportunity to work within a supportive team tasked with the upkeep and maintenance of Council's many parks and gardens.
Skills You Might Learn
Students are required to be punctual and timely, students will be required to work regardless of seasonal conditions.
Typical Tasks & Duties
Students will work will the Parks & Gardens department caring for municipal parks and gardens. This will require a variety of hands-on activities maintaining gardens with the shire. Tasks will include: planting; mulching; weeding; pruning; watering; fertilizing; digging & mowing
Student Requirements
Experience in horticulture tasks, plant identification, workplace expectations, teamwork, maintaining work records as required.
Dress Requirements
Safety boots, clean and tidy clothing and hat.
Special Transport Requirements
Must be able to organise own transport to and from depot
