Chris Evans is the owner and manager of Chuck E Electrical. Chris has been operating in the Seymour region for many years and has a well established business. The opportunity to do work experience or SWL with Chris will provide students with a great insight into working safely in this trade.

Skills You Might Learn

Skills will include communication, teamwork and following instructions. It is possible a student may develop problem solving and initiative skills. It will be knowledge more than skills that students will obtain from doing this placement.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Duties and tasks will be limited due to the hazards involved in this licenced trade. Students will observe some of the tasks involved in domestic and to some extent, commerical wiring. Students will be asked to assist with tool collection, running cable through conduit, removing debris from trenches and other errands as required.

Student Requirements

Students must be willing to contact the employer to arrange a meeting. They will need to show an active interest in this trade which will include asking the employer lots of questions, and being willing to do some of the more mundane tasks that are assigned to them.

Dress Requirements

Tradie type clothing will be required. Singlets are not to be worn. Students will need a suitable hat, particularly in summer. They will need warm clothing in winter. If shorts are agreed to with the employer, they must be of the tradie type.

Special Transport Requirements

Transport will be discussed at the form signing meeting. It is likely the student will need to provide their own transport to Seymour and it is likely the start time will be 8am or earlier.
