Fabricator
A fantastic SWL opportunity for students wanting to experience the many facets of engineering, welding, fabrication and laser cutting working with qualified and experienced engineers. Students interested in construction management, project management, structural engineering or architecture are encouraged to apply. Skills You Might Learn
Students will gain valuable experience in the Engineering Industry and have the opportunity to build on skills including teamwork, communication, initiative, knowledge of tools and equipment, problem solving, organisational and time management strategies.
Typical Tasks & Duties
Students will gain valuable experience in the office with qualified engineers as well as on the factory floor. They will be involved in general maintenance and repairs including welding, reading drawings, measuring, and fabricating components. Other tasks will include assisting in workshop clean-up and maintaining a safe working environment. Students will also have an option to see all facets of the business.
Student Requirements
The student will be motivated, show initiative and be developing an ability to work independently. Punctuality is important. See Dress Requirements for further information.
Dress Requirements
Students should ensure that they wear steel-capped work boots and work gear including pants. a Hi Vis jumper is preferred.
Special Transport Requirements
This location is best reached by bus or car.
