The Salvation Army Stores and op shops specialise in the sale of pre-loved items generously donated by the Australian public. Ranging from its family stores and thrift shops to its well known Salvos Stores, all stores sell quality used goods, including furniture, clothing and shoes, homewares and books. You can find a second-hand or vintage piece at an affordable price while helping raise funds to support the Salvos vital work in the community. If you are a student that is committed to the wellbeing of people of all ages and believes in fairness and decency, this placement is for you.

Skills You Might Learn

This placement will enable the student to to develop a deeper understanding of OHS in a workplace, enhance employability skills, develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills as well as job-readiness and retail experience.

• Or maybe you prefer a more physical role of transporting and sorting donations?
• Or you love to connect with people working on the register and shop floor?

Student Requirements

This role involves dealing with people from all walks of life on a daily basis, so a welcoming personality is essential, as is an understanding of the ethos of the Salvation Army.
