Skills You Might Learn

During this placement students will gain horticultural knowledge and learn what it's like working in public spaces with the public.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Spend a week with the Horticulture team at City of Casey, learning what a career in public space horticulture can be like and undertake the following tasks...
• Weeding
• Mulching
• Pruning
• Raking
• Plant care
• Litter collection

Student Requirements

This placement would suit a candidate who is interested in horticulture and being outdoors. Students will be respectful, professional and courteous at all times. Students are asked to come on time with an enthusiastic attitude and a willingness to learn.

Dress Requirements

High Vis top, work pants, work boots, work gloves, earmuffs and safety glasses.

Special Transport Requirements

Wilson Botanic Park, Berwick is accessible via public transport. Consult the PTV website for details.
