An exciting opportunity is available for a student interested in and studying hairdressing/salon assistant. This professional salon is full of experienced hairdressers who are looking to share their knowledge and guide the future generation of hairdressers.
The salon is based in busy Oakleigh and is committed to supporting more young people to enter the Hairdressing industry. For the right student, this opportunity may lead to an SBAT in the future.

Typical Tasks & Duties

-Greeting customers, cleaning the salon and assisting with maintaining stock.
-There will be lots of client contact.
-The student will learn about techniques and equipment used as well as gaining an understanding on the latest trends.
-Other tasks and duties as directly by your supervisor.

Student Requirements

-Must be enrolled in VET Hairdressing course or Salon Assistant and have a genuine interest in hairdressing as a career pathway.
-The student must be extremely well groomed, have a high standard of personal hygiene and have good communication skills.
-Must be punctual and have stamina as hairdressers can be on their feet for most of the day.
-Must be well mannered and able to assist with customers.
-Students must be fully vaccinated against COVID 19 and must adhere to any salon requirements as discussed at interview.

Dress Requirements

Student must wear flat, comfortable shoes. As it is a hair salon, students can wear clothing that is clean and neat and suitable for the hairdressing industry. More details can be discussed at interview.

Special Transport Requirements

The salon is close to buses and trains as it is around the corner from Oakleigh railway station.
Numerous buses are available and Oakleigh is on the Dandenong and Pakenham train lines.
