A SWL opportunity is available at a highly sought after hair salon in Doncaster, the salon has a good reputation and presents a great opportunity. The student will gain valuable industry experience and may be presented with a future opportunity to progress to an apprenticeship after their studies.

Skills You Might Learn

Experience with clients and customer service Experience working within the hairdressing industry Expanded understating on products, inner industry operations. Experience performing shampoo and basin services. Experience / knowledge on an array of techniques and treatments (i.e. chemical curling, volumising, layered haircut structures).

Typical Tasks & Duties

The student will learn how to maintain a clean and efficient environment and how to communicate effectively with those around you including co-workers and clients. They will also learn how to prepare clients for salon services, shampooing and removing chemicals from the hair, performing head neck and shoulder massage. You will provide ad hoc support and follow directives from qualified salon staff.

Customer service - greeting clients, taking bookings. Observing and receiving mentoring by experienced beauty / hair technicians. Perform shampoo and basin services, practice skills and techniques: i.e Colour and lighten hair, neutralise unwanted colours and tones, apply the princes of hairdressing science.

Student Requirements

Students must have excellent presentation and be well mannered and able to take direction.
Preferably studying a Certificate III in Hairdressing/ Salon Assistant.
