A great SWL opportunity for students interested in building and construction to gain hands on experience in the sector. Students will be mentored and supervised by some of the most skilled craftsmen in the field at a leading construction agency.

Students must have a genuine interest in the industry and studying a related course. They must be punctual, and responsible and able to work as part of a team.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Student tasks and duties may vary depending on the employer's workload and scheduled works.

However, these may include:
- Industry specific knowledge development and mentoring
- Assisting skilled tradesmen
- General site clean up
- Assisting trades with cutting, drilling, fastening, screwing down, puttying, priming, installing insulation
- Students will learn about the care and use of tools, measurements and OH&S requirements on a busy site

Student Requirements

Student must have a genuine interest in a pathway in Building & Construction. Student must be a self starter, early riser and have good time management skills.
Please note that the start time for placement days is 7:00AM so students must be prepared to start that that time and show a high level of punctuality when on placement.

Students must wear safety boots and protective clothing, including long pants.
