Allied Health Work Experience Placement - Latrobe Regional Health
Work experience provides students with learning opportunities guided by experienced and passionate health professionals.
This Opportunity will rotate through a range of Allied Health areas including: Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Dietetics, Social Work, Prosthetics and Orthotics and Allied Health Assistance
Skills You Might Learn
Students undertaking WE placement would typically observe the following tasks and duties:
Via direction of staff:
- Assist with set up / pack up of group activities
- Assist with group activities eg. therapy/craft (helping clients)
Rotation s may include: Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Dietetics, Social Work, Prosthetics and Orthotics and Allied Health Assistance
Students undertaking the placement would typically acquire the following skills:
- Knowledge of the industry
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Working professionally as part of a team
Typical Tasks & Duties
Students will observe health professionals working in a range of disciplines and may have the opportunity to assist with some group activities and therapies in the following areas: Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Dietetics, Social Work, Prosthetics and Orthotics and Allied Health Assistance
Student Requirements
Students should have an interest in the Health industry and a willingness to learn.
Dress Requirements
Students will be required to maintain a professional appearance. Shoes must be flat and closed toes
Special Transport Requirements
Student to arrange own transport
