This community house provides the community with a broad range of services and supports. The general public and community groups are encouraged to participate in classes, groups, services and facilities offered at this site.
Students will work within the Coffee Cart and learning barista skills. On Tuesday to Thursday only.

Students may also attain vital industry specific skills which will relate to their studies such as:

- Observing and learning from industry qualified and experienced professionals
- Working in real-life scenarios and environments
- Working with tools and equipment necessary to the occupation and business
- Liaising and working with colleagues, managers, customers/clients and suppliers.

Typical Tasks & Duties

During your placement, you may undertake some of the following:
- Learn processes for greeting clients, customers and visitors.
- Answering a phone, transferring calls, taking messages, making bookings and answering questions.
- Provide a link between the kitchen and service areas.
- Investigate the menus. Investigate who plans menus and how often they are changed.
- Research and plan your own menu and complete a stock order list (include prices for stock and plan menu prices to ensure profit)
- Identify OH&S policies and procedures in the workplace.
- Learn about tea and coffee preparation.
- Clear away and replace table settings.
- Polish and clean equipment.
- Clean and tidy work areas
- Learn more about food handling and hygiene.

Student Requirements

Some employers have specific requirements relating to student placements. These may include sending in a resume, sighting a current Working with Children Check (WWC) or Police Check, gaining parental permission for the student to travel with employer or attending an OH&S induction on or before commencement of placement.
Please discuss with the employer at interview about any other additional requirements.

Dress Requirements

Please contact employer for details relating to specific dress requirements prior to the placement commencement date.

Special Transport Requirements

Student is to arrange own transport to and from the employer. Some public transport may be accessed.
