With over 40 years of electrical experience and 20 years in business this local electrical contractor has a close knit team of professionals offering commercial, industrial and domestic services. With a keen interest in hosting Work placements the team are supportive and offer worthwhile experiences.
Skills You Might Learn
Students will learn how to interact with work colleagues as they will be out on work sites with a qualified electricians during their working day. Skills attained will include the following:
• Hands on experience as an electrician
• Knowledge and understanding electrical installation and maintenance
• Thorough knowledge of different tools and equipment
• Gained understanding of safety regulations and standards
• Some skills that you may attain in this placement will include carrying out measurements and calculations, the basics of wiring, installation and testing of electrical equipment
Typical Tasks & Duties
Typical duties of this placement will include set up and pack up of work areas for jobs both on and offsite, assisting packing the work vehicle with tools, and electrical cables and stock. Observing the team carrying out day to day activities on various sites and projects.
Student Requirements
This work placement will suit a student who has a keen interest in the trade, demonstrates a good work ethic, willingness to learn and wants to work alongside experienced professionals. Bring your communication and problem solving skills.
Personal mobile phones are not required and should only be used out of work hours or on meal breaks.
Dress Requirements
Students will need to wear long pants and a long sleeved shirt, and protective work boots.
Special Transport Requirements
Student to make own transport arrangements.
