Admin assistant

Established in 1886, this peak body assists the Greater Bendigo business community by providing support, networking and events for their members and partners.

At its core the team works to create and drive business activity by developing key relationships, encouraging collaboration and providing relevant and data-based communications. They also provide leadership and advocacy and host events and programs to advance business and facilitate knowledge and skills development e.g., Buy Local Campaigns, Bendigo’s Business Excellence Awards, Business Mentoring, After Five, Young Professionals Network and other development/skills events.

Offering a wide range of services to members this placement will offer students the opportunity to undertake a variety of tasks across several units including administration, events and marketing.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Students will observe and learn from industry qualified and experienced professionals across a range of areas, tasks and duties may include:
• Observing and taking part in customer service (depending on level of competency) e.g., welcoming clients and directing enquiries
• Observing and assisting with administration, event and marketing operations
• Liaising and working with colleagues, customers/clients, and suppliers
• Ad hoc tasks as required as directed by supervising staff members
• Set up and pack away tasks e.g., meeting room preparation

Student Requirements

Students must have a keen interest in working within an office environment and be willing to explore their interest in administration, events or marketing. Be well mannered, behave in a respectful manner and have good communication skills.

Dress Requirements

Neat casual attire including skirt/long pants with a sleeved shirt (e.g., no ripped jeans or t-shirts)
