Deepcore Drilling is the leader in underground mobile, acoustic drilling, and deep directional drilling in Australia. As a fully mobile contractor, Deepcore Drilling service and maintain all operational vehicles and drill rigs within its Bendigo workshop facility.

This opportunity will enable students to learn new skills in all areas of the business by observing staff working in all areas e.g., trades, warehousing, drilling and office operations. This will give the student a good overall view of the industry requirements.

Skills You Might Learn

Students will learn industry terminology and techniques required to work in the industry. You will also learn how to interact with work colleagues and will be supervised by qualified tradespeople, skills attained may include the following:
• Hands on experience
• Knowledge of different tools and equipment
• Understanding of safety regulations and standards
• Tidying, set up and pack up of work areas
• Knowledge and understanding of the drilling industry, career paths and opportunities

Typical Tasks & Duties

Tasks on the placement will vary depending on the current jobs/work flow and on each student's areas of skill and interest. Tasks may include observing the team:
• Carrying out day to day activities
• Assisting qualified staff with tools and material selection
• Repairing equipment
• Troubleshooting

Student Requirements

This work placement is for students interested in a trades role within the drilling industry. Students must have good attention to detail, demonstrate a good work ethic, and willingness to learn.
Personal mobile phones are not required and should only be used out of work hours or on meal breaks.

Dress Requirements

Students will be provided the necessary work clothing to be able to carry out the placement. A sizing guide will be supplied once the placement has been confirmed. Please ensure you supply your own steel cap work boots.
