A fantastic opportunity to gain experience working at the public library.
There’s more to libraries than just processing books, this opportunity will expose you to a variety of duties required to run a successful library service. You will be working with a caring team of library staff assisting with a variety of duties including back of house library operations and collection management, customers service, cleaning, and maintenance as well as assisting in delivering a variety of interesting library activities. A positive, open, willing to learn attitude is encouraged.

Students will also learn industry specific skills such as merchandising, paying attention to detail, working to deadlines and customer service.
Typical Tasks & Duties
Tasks and duties will include, sorting returned books, stocking shelves, customer service, cataloguing new and old books and magazines.
Receipt of stock, checking databases, researching new publications and mailouts to customers.
Student Requirements
Student attending this placement should have a keen interest in books and customer service.
Personal mobile phones are not required and should only be used out of work hours or on meal breaks.
Dress Requirements
Neat casual clothes with covered in shoes or boots.
Special Transport Requirements
Public transport is available.
