P.J Pools and Spas are Victoria’s swimming pool construction and renovation specialists. A family run business based in Dandenong South. Part of the industry since 1973, this is a great opportunity for a student who is interested in the Building and Construction Industry, to practice and build on their knowledge on a real work site. Areas of the business include new pool construction, renovation and interior plastering.

Skills You Might Learn

Students will learn to be part of the team, handling various materials, use of tools and equipment, etc in order to meet specific task requirements. Additional skills will include communication, time management, following instructions, problem solving, demonstrating initiative, etc.

Typical Tasks & Duties

The student will begin with the basics, observing and gaining a solid understanding of Workplace Procedures and Health & Safety.Tasks. Tasks will be mainly outdoor, working onsite, assisting with the cleaning and preparation of site before construction begins. As their skills and competencies develop, they will be given the opportunity to participate in more complex tasks.

Student Requirements

Students must enjoy practical and outdoor work, follow precise directions from supervisor, able to cope with the physical demands of the job, maintain a valid CIC and be prepared to work outdoors in the a variety of weather conditions. Please check with employer regarding any COVID safe practices and immunisation requirements before starting placement.

Dress Requirements

Dress appropriately for outdoor work, students will need a warm jacket, Safety boots (preferably steel capped) and work shorts or jeans (navy blue/black).
A company polo shirt and high Vis gear will be provided by employer.

Special Transport Requirements

Students are required to get to and from the factory via their own means.
