Two SWL placement opportunities exist for enthusiastic students to work alongside experienced professional and friendly staff at Bunnings Epping. Being a large retail provider Bunnings offer many areas to work in, depending on interest. For example, a student studying building and construction would benefit greatly working in the timber yard, learning types and sizes of timber etc. Bunnings have the capacity to place students on SWL in their chosen area of interest. Although they are predominately a retail store, they have various areas to cover many interested areas of employment. For example, plumbing, carpentry, gardening and horticulture.
Skills You Might Learn
The student will get the opportunity to develop skills in interpersonal skills, knowledge of products, product placement, stoke taking, basic customer service, work and life skills, such as time management, communication and personal development skills.
Typical Tasks & Duties
Assist on the shop floor. Stock replenishment. General customer service, merchandising, labelling shelves with prices, cleaning. Alternative tasks will depend on the area of employment. e.g. working in the nursery would require plant care, watering, restocking. Working in the plumbing department would introduce students to products and their uses.
Student Requirements
The student may have previous experience in a similar role or may be a customer service superstar in a different industry, either way we would love to hear from you. There are a few things that will make you shine in this role: having energy and a positive attitude, a genuine customer service focus and a dedication to always making our customers smile during their shopping experience. We are seeking students who are reliable and on time. If you are unable to attend on the day, a courtesy phone call would be appreciated.

Smart casual with closed shoes.
