The appearance and function of the track's surface, the mounting yard's enclosure and surrounding lawns and gardens must be in the best possible condition for the safety of the horses, jockeys and patrons who attend the six race day meetings throughout a year. The supportive team made up of committee members and the Track Manager will provide training and support to students to develop skills and build experience in Agricultural services. Typical Tasks & Duties

Students will be responsible for the following tasks;
- Assisting trained staff with track and gardening management tasks as instructed.
- Engaging in manual labour.
- Completing all tasks as assigned by trained staff.
This position will include duties such as helping the Track Manager and other employees to assist them in their roles. Student will be expected to be an active participant in all workplace practices. The business has a diverse team of professionals, and this gives the student an excellent chance to be hands on a lot of the time in a variety of job roles.

Student Requirements

Students are encouraged to consider a WE placement to develop skills learned from their school subject. The following requirements must be met;
- Students are required to have completed the Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) modules- General module and any applicable industry OH&S modules.
- Students must maintain a diary or logbook and/or complete work experience assignment and other tasks that have been set by the school.
- Students must adhere to strict Privacy and Confidentiality policy and procedures.
- Students must have a willingness to learn and be able to follow instructions carefully and competently.
- Students must be willing to communicate clearly and work as a productive team member.
- Personal mobile phones are not required and should only be used out of work hours or on offsite meal breaks.

Dress Requirements

Students undertaking a placement will be required to wear work pants/shorts and boots as appropriate for work in the agricultural profession. All Personal Protective Equipment will be discussed with the student before workplace learning commences and must be worn according to company policy and procedure.

Special Transport Requirements

The student or the parent/guardian (where the student is under 18 years of age) is responsible for the student’s transport to and from the workplace. This opportunity does require the student to undertake vehicle travel with their employer and/or supervisor during the arrangement (including transporting the student to and/or from the workplace), the employer must complete the Structured Workplace Learning Travel and Accommodation Form. The student or the parent/guardian (where the student is under 18 years of age) must give their consent by also completing this form.
