Are you a student eager to gain hands-on experience in mechanical fitting? Don’t miss this exciting opportunity to work at one of Australia’s largest power stations!
Located at Yallourn, this placement offers the chance to learn in a dynamic industrial environment powered by brown coal from Australia’s second-largest open-cut mine. Each year, Yallourn mines around 18 million tonnes of high-moisture brown coal, which is transformed into superheated steam to drive four massive turbine generators. These turbines produce 1,480 megawatts of electricity per hour - enough to power approximately 2 million homes.
As a Mechanical Fitter student, you’ll get exposure to maintaining, repairing, and ensuring the reliability of critical power station equipment, making this an invaluable experience for students interested in engineering or the energy sector. If you’re ready to take the next step toward a rewarding career, reach out to learn more about this unique opportunity!
