Typical Tasks & Duties
Students will be responsible or asked to observe the following tasks:
- Working within a team.
- Customer service.
- Assisting pets and their owners.
- Restocking shop floor.
- Cleaning as required.
- Cash handling.
Student Requirements
The following requirements must be met:
- Students are required to have a keen interest in the retail and/or agricultural sector.
- Students must be able to spend extended periods on their feet.
- Students must have a willingness to learn and be able to follow instructions.
- Students must be willing to communicate clearly and work with a team.
- Students must be completing a related subject or have displayed an interest in the area of Retail/Agricultural services and Customer Service Professionals.
Dress Requirements
Contact employer prior to placement for more detail on what to wear- closed in heel and toe shoes are required.
Special Transport Requirements
The student or the parent/guardian (where the student is under 18 years of age) is responsible for the student’s transport to and from the workplace. If it is proposed that the student may need to undertake vehicle travel with their employer and/or supervisor during the arrangement (including transporting the student to and/or from the workplace), the employer must complete the Work Experience Travel and Accommodation Form. The student or the parent/guardian (where the student is under 18 years of age) must give their consent by also completing this form. If a student is required to stay at accommodation other than his or her normal place of residence while undertaking work experience, the student or parent/guardian (where the student is under 18 years of age) is responsible for making suitable arrangements and must complete the Work Experience Travel and Accommodation Form.
