This is a great opportunity for a student to learn all of the day-to-day activities required to run a busy hospitality business in a major shopping centre.

Skills You Might Learn

During this placement students will have the opportunity to build on their communication skills, customer service skills and OH&S knowledge. They will learn how to work as part of a team and use initiative. Students will also learn important aspects of food hygiene and kitchen operations while working in a busy environment.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Students will serve customers food and beverages and clean down tables. Students will also stack and empty the dishwasher and clean/mop floors. Students will also become familiar with safe food preparation and handling.

Student Requirements

Students are asked to come on time with an enthusiastic attitude, neat appearance and a willingness to learn. Students must be willing to learn and interested in hospitality. You will need to be well presented and work well in a team environment.
Students must attend an interview before placement. This allows for employer and student questions and to have paperwork signed.

Dress Requirements

Students must wear black top and pants including black closed toed shoes. Hair must be tied back neatly.

Special Transport Requirements

Fountain Gate is easily accessible via public transport.
