They promote a personalised service to both trade and retail customers. This opportunity is open to first-year plumbing (Year 11) students ONLY. This place is designed for students to expand their knowledge of plumbing products, learn the language of the trade and use the opportunity to expand their network of contacts in the industry.

You can gain skills in: communication, teamwork, attention to detail, active listening, problem solving skills, OH&S procedures, receiving goods, stocktaking, customer service and the safe delivery of goods.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Students will be following a 10 week program designed to give them the best outcomes for their understanding of the industry which is aligned with their logbooks. Completing OH&S modules online in the store. Customer service (shadowing sales staff), stocktaking, merchandising of stock, cleaning, picking and delivering orders for trades. Assisting with general admin and preparation to work in the plumbing industry.

Student Requirements

Students are required to be doing a VET in Plumbing. This placement is for Year 11 students ONLY Students must contact the employer within 1 week of this placement being arranged.

Dress Requirements

Supervisor on site to specify during interview

Special Transport Requirements

Students must arrange their own way to and from placement and be permitted to accompany drivers when they are conducting deliveries.
