The Community Impact Team at Aussie Broadband is typically responsible for handling the company’s involvement in the community, supporting customers, and contributing to various social causes or initiatives. This can include customer care, community outreach, partnerships with charities, or other forms of corporate social responsibility (CSR). On a Structured Workplace Learning (SWL) day with the Community Services Team, a student would likely assist with a variety of tasks that help the team support the community and customers.

Communication: Enhancing verbal and written communication skills while interacting with customers, colleagues, and community members. Event Management: Learning how to coordinate and support community-focused events or initiatives. Helping staff access methods of community outreach through researching community support programs. Social Media & Digital Marketing: Learning how to use social media and digital tools to promote community initiatives and engage with a broader audience. Problem-Solving: Developing solutions to help underserved or vulnerable community members access the services they need. Collaboration: Working with internal teams and external community organizations to achieve common goals.

Typical Tasks & Duties

On a Structured Workplace Learning day with the Community Impact Team at Aussie Broadband, a student would assist with a variety of tasks focused on community outreach, and promoting social good. They might help with customer engagement, coordinating community initiatives, managing events, assisting with social media campaigns, and tracking the success of community programs. Through these activities, the student will gain valuable experience in customer service, communication, and corporate social responsibility, while learning how companies like Aussie Broadband contribute to the community and foster positive change. Tasks will involve online research, event preparation and community service activities.

Student Requirements

Students will need to maintain a time sheet while working with us and this record is sent to our finance team for them to process payment to the student. Payment is $10 per day.
We request a recent photograph of students (head shot, school photo is ideal but does need to be high resolution) in order to create a photo ID security pass to allow them access to our offices. They will also be provided with a security fob to enter and move around departments.

Dress Requirements

Dress requirements for all our roles is neat casual. We request no offensive prints or torn clothing. Jeans and tee/hoodie/jacket with runners are ok. Jeans must not have any tears or holes in them.

Special Transport Requirements

Students to make their own way to and from site.
