Kingsmen Barber Shop is located in the Oakleigh Shopping centre. This placement is in a bright, modern and well-established hairdressing salon. The atmosphere is very friendly but also busy. The owner is very supportive of the SWL program, and students will gain valuable experience in this profession. Their emphasis is on delivering exceptional services to discerning clientele.

Skills You Might Learn

Students will gain some industry-specific skills from gaining practical hands on experience, observing and learning from industry-qualified and experienced professionals.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Students will assist with preparing clients for salon services, maintain tools and equipment and help organise work areas. They may also greet and seat clients and gain hands-on practical experience, Washing Hair, and Straightening are just a few of the daily tasks that will be covered.

Student Requirements

Students must have completed the OH&S module in WRS VCAL or else have begun the OH&S module in the relevant VET course. In addition, students must be reliable, timely, and friendly, have the ability to be on their feet for most of the day and have a very positive attitude.

Dress Requirements

Black clothes, comfy close toe shoes
