Ballarat Greyhound Racing Club (BGRC) operates The Ballarat Function Centre which is utilised by the Ballarat Community for Weddings, Fundraisers, Presentations, Balls, Corporate events and Funerals. With a capacity of up to 450 seated guests and a highly adaptable space, we can tailor and decorate our rooms for almost any type of event. Only 10 minutes from the Ballarat CBD, and with ample parking available, the Ballarat Function Centre has a fully functioning bar and catering kitchen suitable for small and large events.

Typical Tasks & Duties
Students will be required to observe and assist with day-to-day activities and may undertake the following:
• Assisting in taking bookings and walkthroughs
• Assisting in the organisation of events
• Assist with functions, events or conferences.
• Set up events spaces / rooms.
• Stocktake and restocking.
• Resetting event space
• Clearing tables
Student Requirements
Student must be willing to learn and develop new skills, be hardworking, reliable and have good communication skills. Students are also expected to be able to follow instructions, ask questions when needed to ensure understanding, and pay attention. The student will be required to maintain safe practice at all times.
Student Requirements
As functions are conducted at various times of the day and week, students will need to be flexible with their availability. Your work hours will be provided upon your placement confirmation.
Students are required to conduct an informal interview on the site prior to being approved.
Dress Requirements
The student will be required to wear smart casual clothing, with black work pants required if assisting as part of a function.
Special Transport Requirements
The student or the parent/guardian (where the student is under 18 years of age) is responsible for the student’s transport to and from the workplace.
