This work placement opportunity is a community partnership between St Stephen's Anglican Church (St Thomas' Family Education Trust) and Cultivating Community, offering students hands-on experience in sustainable food systems. Over six full days, participants will gain practical skills in sustainable growing methods, responsible water usage, food harvesting, and preparation. This program also includes work readiness training, providing valuable insights into career pathways in the food industry.

Typical Tasks & Duties
Students will have the opportunity to spend time with experienced professional staff, learning and assisting in the following task and duties under supervision:
- Food propagation
- planting and harvesting
- organic food production
- urban farming and community gardening
- zero waste cooking
- farm to fork practices
- plan and deliver a community meal
Student Requirements
Year 10 or 11 students
Dress Requirements
Solid footwear is required; leather boots are preferred, otherwise old trainers. BYO gloves Long sleeve shirt is preferred and a broad-brimmed hat is essential when works outdoor.
