This is a fantastic opportunity for a student in year 12 who is very interested in getting an apprenticeship.
CGB Constructions is a company that specializes in timber framing for both commercial and domestic constructions and renovations. Working mostly in the South East Growth Corridor of Officer, Pakenham and surrounding suburbs, CGB work is in high demand. The Owner/ Director, Callum, worked his way up from an apprentice to business owner and now employs other young apprentice carpenters.
Skills You Might Learn
Put skills learnt in your building and construction VET course into a practical use. You can expect to take part in OH&S induction, assessing, clearing and preventing hazards, effective communication as part of a team, read site plans, complete tasks in set time etc
Typical Tasks & Duties
Typical tasks include using hand/ power tools to measure, cut and join timber framing. This will be as part of team using effective communication. Some manual labour will be required. Site set up ( fencing, locating power etc) and clean up.
Student Requirements
Must have current white card to take this position. Students will be required to provide their own steel caped boots and Hi-Vis shirt. Sunscreen is provided.
It is preferred that the student have been trained on drop saw and nail gun before starting with this employer.

Special Transport Requirements
Own transport is recommended as sites are throughout the South East Growth Corridor. Call employer to see if pick up from train station can be arranged.
