South East Leisure
We are looking for volunteers to support the South East Running Festival on Sunday, 13th April 2025, at Dandenong Stadium.
Volunteering at the event is a great way to gain experience in event operations, teamwork, and community engagement. Volunteers will be needed from 6:30 am to 12:00 pm. If you can only volunteer for part of this time, not a worry – we can accommodate! Volunteers will help with tasks such as assisting at drink stations, directing runners, supporting registration, and helping with setup and pack-down.
As a thank you, volunteers will receive:
✅ 2 weeks of free gym & aquatic membership access at Dandenong Oasis and Noble Park Aquatic Centre
✅ A certificate of appreciation
✅ Refreshments on the day

Typical Tasks & Duties
•Assist at drink stations, ensuring water and hydration supplies are available for participants.
• Provide direction and encouragement to runners along the course, including key turnaround points.
• Support event registration by checking in participants and distributing race materials.
• Offer general event support, including assisting with setup, pack-down, and crowd management.
• Ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all participants and spectators.
Student Requirements
• No prior experience required; enthusiasm and a positive attitude are essential!
• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• Comfortable working outdoors and being on your feet for extended periods.
•Ability to follow instructions and adapt to event needs.
•Current Working with Children Employee Check (Volunteer).
Dress Requirements
***Volunteers are expected to wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing suitable for working outdoors for extended periods.
***Sturdy shoes (e.g., sneakers or athletic footwear) are essential, as you will be on your feet for extended periods.
***A South East Running Festival volunteer shirt will be provided, and it should be worn during your shift.
*** It is advisable to wear hats, sunscreen, and bring a water bottle to stay hydrated.
Special Transport Requirements
Dandenong Stadium is accessible by public transport, including bus and train services.
