The Warehousing Assistant at AGL / Loy Yang A Power Station will assist in the daily operations of the warehouse, ensuring the proper storage, handling, and distribution of equipment and supplies necessary for the power station's operations. This role provides hands-on experience in warehousing, inventory management, and logistical support in an industrial setting.

Typical Tasks & Duties
Inventory Management:
• Assist with the tracking and organisation of inventory, including raw materials, spare parts, and safety equipment for the power station.
• Help conduct stock counts, update inventory logs, and report any discrepancies in stock levels.
• Ensure proper labelling and tagging of materials for easy identification and access.
Receiving and Storing Materials:
• Help unload incoming deliveries, verify the contents, and ensure they match the purchase orders.
• Organise materials in the warehouse, ensuring that items are stored safely and efficiently, following proper storage guidelines.
• Assist in maintaining a clean, organised warehouse space, ensuring that items are stored in designated locations for easy retrieval.
Order Picking and Packing:
• Assist with picking and preparing materials and supplies needed by various departments within the power station.
• Help package materials for distribution, ensuring that the correct items are selected, and materials are packed securely for transportation.
Shipping and Distribution Support:
• Support the preparation and coordination of outgoing shipments, ensuring items are delivered to the correct departments on time.
• Help ensure that all orders are documented accurately and tracked to ensure timely delivery.
Safety Compliance:
• Assist in ensuring all materials and equipment in the warehouse are handled and stored according to safety guidelines.
• Learn and practice proper manual handling techniques to prevent injury and ensure the safety of others in the warehouse environment.
• Participate in safety inspections and assist with maintaining a safe working environment.
Team Support:
• Work with warehouse supervisors and other team members to complete daily tasks.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for improving warehouse processes and efficiency.
• Provide general support to other departments when needed, assisting in tasks that require warehousing support.
Student Requirements
1. High school student, preferably in year 10 to 12, with an interest in logistics, warehouse operations, or industrial safety.
2. Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
3. Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team environment.
4. Good communication skills and the ability to ask for clarification when needed.
5. Ability to lift and handle items safely (with proper training).

Students to arrange transport to and from the workplace.
