Typical Tasks & Duties
Strong customer service is a primary attribute of a Switchboard operator. Your strong communication skills will shine through in this role by delivering service experience from excellent customer service, having knowledge of food and safety requirements and everything in between. The student will be involved in a wide variety of tasks and some may include:
Switchboard operator – Duties Overview:
• Answer calls within 3 rings using specified greeting for hotel.
• Positively respond to all calls (both internal and external), redirect to rooms / departments as required.
• Take messages in prescribed manner, repeat back to caller and dispatch within 15mins.
• Ensure wake up calls are completed as requested with reminder calls if required.
• Accurately account for all guest calls.
• Be familiar with all hotel emergency procedures.
• Continually update hotel and local product knowledge.
Student Requirements
An interest in business/customer service and a desire to deliver exceptional customer service.
A friendly and positive demeanor with attention to detail and an ability to respond to the changing nature of service times in a hotel environment.
Dress Requirements
Black shirt and pants, closed toe shoes. Please discuss in further detail with Sonia.
