Drummond Golf - Sunraysia Golf Range have a Work Experience Opportunity (WE Opportunity) as a Sales and Sport Recreation Assistant (Retail Trade - Sport and Recreation Industries).

Drummond Golf - Sunraysia Golf Range, Retail has the biggest range of golf equipment, apparel and accessories selling Clubs, Balls, Gloves, Bags, Buggies, Shoes, Clothing, Technology and Accessories in the Sunraysia District also at the best prices. Drummond Golf - Sunraysia Golf Range, Golf Driving Range has nine undercover bays with quality hitting mats, two massive grass tees, a new grass putting green, bunker and chipping area. You can be fitted to the right clubs in the Indoor/Outdoor Performance Fitting Centre using Flightscope technology, hitting full shots onto the Range. Golf Lessons are also available by appointment with PGA Professional Michael McKenzie.

The WE Opportunity is ideally suited to a Year 10 student or a VCE student looking to gain experience in the Retail Trade and Sport and Recreation Industries.

Typical Tasks & Duties

As a Sales and Sport Recreation Assistant, the student will observe and spend time under the direct supervision of experienced and qualified staff assisting with general retail sales and golf range recreational administration tasks and duties at Drummond Golf - Sunraysia Golf Range.

The student may observe and assist with the following tasks and duties;
- Contribution to health and safety of self and others
- Deliver customer service
- Observing register (point-of-sale) operation and procedures
- Replenishment of products, merchandise and pricing.
- Warehouse operations work to receive stock in storeroom and prepare stock for placement in store.
- Ensuring the retail store and warehouse is kept orderly and clean, and that goods are secured, properly displayed and stored.
- Work effectively in a retail and recreational sports environment.
- Process and maintain information.
- Communicate verbally and electronically.
- Produce and alter simple documents.
- Participate in sustainable work practices.
- Process of Golf Range recreational and training sessions.
- Follow instructions in an emergency situation.
- Maintain industry specific knowledge.

Student Requirements

Students with a positive attitude towards Retail Trade and Sport and Recreation who are self-motivated, willing to listen and follow instruction are encouraged to consider a future WE placement to develop skills learned from their school subjects relating to Retail Trade and Sport and Recreation.

Whilst the student is attending the work placement they are expected to:
• Students must be interested in the Retail Trade and Sport and Recreation possess good communication skills.
• Students must be willing to spend periods of time observing and to undertake necessary tasks as requested.
• Dress appropriately.
• Maintain interest and participate in tasks and work duties.
• Be well mannered and behave in a respectful and responsible manner.
• Be punctual.
• Follow management instructions.
• Act in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) requirements.
• Work within the team.
• Listen and take advice from fellow workers.
• Respect other people’s belongings.
• Keep a note pad and pen handy to take notes for their own reference.
• Demonstrate the skills they have developed through their course.
• Take their Logbook to the work placement every day.

Dress Requirements

The student must be well presented, clean and hygienic at all times.
- Neat Casual attire
- Non-slip enclosed shoes
- Drummond Golf - Sunraysia Golf Range will provide a company shirt with logo.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriate to the tasks and duties carried out by the student, will be supplied by the Host Employer.

Special Transport Requirements

Public Transport is limited, students to check bus transport availability and or speak to parents/carer to organise transport prior to contacting employer.
